New classes in Bluefiled, Hobby Lobby

Hello everyone,

I would like to invite you to check out my classes at Hobby Lobby at Mercer Mall.  I intend to start on the second week of September.  To sign up for these classes, please call me 276-970-0090. Thanks.

This is the schedule:

Monday Morning, September 8th,  10-12 hrs ... Beginners ... learning the basics. We will make 5 cards, small projects to learn some the the basic techniques.

Wednesday Morning, September 10th,  10-12 hrs ... Advanced ... for ladies who have done scrapbooking in the past, various levels.  We will work on a mini-album  and 2 cards.

The projects are really pretty!  This first week you can do any of these classes for a special price of 5 dollars.  It is a special price for you to come, experience the class and get to know me!  Besides that I will have some coffee and cookies for everyone who comes by!

All materials are included for these classes.  I have tools to share but if you have the basic, it would be good.  The basic would be pencil, ruler, eraser, some makers, and glue.  If you have done scrapbooking before and have stamps, punchs, special scissors and other resources, you are welcome to bring to share ... but it is not required.  :)

What is "Scrap N Chat"?

Hi everyone!

This is the first post in this blog.  I am sure you are wondering what is Scrap n Chat!

Let me explain ...

About 15 years ago I started meeting with a group of ladies in Spain, where I normally live.  I will make a post on my life later, so you guys can know me a bit better.

Back to Spain!  Anyway, I started meeting with these ladies and introducing scrapbooking to them.  We met one morning a week after we left the kids at school to work on our projects and have coffee, lots of coffee.

We learned together, we laugh a lot, and even cried a few times.  You know, all those emotions that come from showing your favorite pictures of moments or people who are so important in your life??  Yes, we lived life together doing our favorite hobby.

A few years later, I believe it was 2008 or 2009, we received a group of scrap-crazies from TN, to teach us some projects and have an intercultural exchange. It was amazing!  Then Scrap n Chat Espana came to existence!!!

We formalize a group, organized projects and adopted some values.  First, we are a Christian group that loves to share the message and the love of God in our meetings.  For that, we always start our classes with an inspirational moment, about 10 minutes.   Secondly, we act upon that value, supporting several humanitarian causes.

We have sent donations to Haiti, Japan, Africa, and NGOs such as Compassion International and others locally. It has been a privilege to be able to give a bit of all God has given to us so freely!

Our participants come from all walks of life, all religious background, etc.  We want everyone to have a chance to learn this beautiful hobby and to have a moment of peace and relax in a very busy and stressful life.

Our mission is to love God first, to extend this love to each other as we gather and to serve the world as we give.

OK, now I find myself in Bluefield, Virginia.  My family will be spending a year here and I needed a job.  A door opened in Princeton, at HOBBY LOBBY!!!  One of my favorite places to go in the world!  I will start teaching classes at a very reasonable price!  I will be introducing a few causes that we can all help together!  Looking forward to this opportunity as it will be also a growing experience as a Scrap-Instructor.

I have so many ideas, so many projects and cannot wait until I start posting them here. I will also use this space to give instructions for the classes, announcements, etc.  It will be a fun place to "visit"!
